Focusing on Mental Health
For the past several years, MLI has partnered with Mu Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. and Missouri State Senator Barbara Anne Washington to put on this informative event about mental health in the Greater Kansas City community.
Caring for Kids
In 2022 Metropolitan Leadership Institute entered into the Caring for Kids Kansas City network designed to gain community partners for local schools. Our school, where we partner with civic social and religious groups to address student and teacher needs, is Lindberg Elementary School in Kansas City, Kansas. In this past school year, we provided 10 holiday meals for families, collected board games for prizes on school focus days and provided snacks for teachers and administrators during parent teacher conference days.

Annual Jazz Brunch
Metropolitan Leadership Institute partnered with Mu Omega Chapter for 6 years to host our pre pandemic annual fundraiser, The Jazz Brunch. The fundraiser provided scholarships for female high-school seniors in the Kansas City, Kansas area school districts. In 2023 and beyond we are exploring other fundraising opportunities.
